This wristwatch originally belonged to my grandfather, David S. Parker. When he died, my father, David A. Parker, gave it to me.
On March 8, 2005, the battery that my grandfather had installed stopped.
I took this commemorative photograph with my backup timepiece: my mobile phone.
I now wear the watch every day, and often think of my body occupying the space that my grandfather once did.
